The founder of DO Philanthropy Inc. and co-founder of the Joyful Living Joyful Giving Foundation, Doris is a social entrepreneur, coach and consultant. Having worked in fundraising at the international level for 25 years, Doris has knack for cultivating relationships, teasing out vision, motivating high performance, and helping individuals, charities and businesses achieve more than they imagined. She lives in Langley BC with some plants, her shih tzu terrier and a few beautiful paintings of her late husband Ray. She also has ‘Unpoverty’ tattooed on her wrist, her family tattooed on her heart; and gets so excited about her work and people that she sometimes forgets to sleep.

Born and raised in Ecuador, Martha felt her calling to serve the poor as a young girl and has since devoted her life to creating transformational, sustainable micro-enterprise solutions to poverty. With over 20 years at Opportunity International Canada, Martha has demonstrated her profound belief in the impact of serving others with compassion, empowering thousands of entrepreneurs across Latin America and Africa. Martha leads with a quiet humility and brings a vast amount of intelligence and understanding of the politics, policies and peculiar languages of governments, lawmakers and granters. An avid volleyball player and adventurous spirit, she is always up for a challenges like trekking the West Coast Trail with her husband and three sons last summer.

Andy has spent much of his career proving that the devil is in the details. A self-proclaimed data nerd, for the last 20 years, he has helped high tech businesses find foggy organizational holes, hidden opportunities and runways for growth. His super-power is translating the data, best practices, people-prioritizing and creative solutions into a map transforming good businesses into the extra-ordinary. Andy and his Kirsten run a busy home with four kids, a dog, endless DIY projects and an unlimited love for sports of all kinds.

Words and messaging are Irene Hill’s passion. She has spent decades teasing out the stories that make people tick and translating them into language that grabs hearts and moves people to take action. A big-picture thinker, her gifts include hearing beyond what clients say to what they truly want.
Books have been part of her life since childhood, and before the Great Flood of 2018, she had collected and loved over 1,000 books. Her greatest loves, apart from books, are her husband and two recently inherited kids. She enjoys living in the Okanagan with her family as they work on a never-ending home renovation.

An Australian transplant, Kimberley Parker is a multi-tasker who has worked two jobs simultaneously for the last 20 years as both freelance writer for newspapers, magazines and charities, and full-time Mom. She is adept at tracking down innovative research for presentations, print material and online media. A people person, Kimberley strives to understand the heart of the mission and present it in a unique, spare and effective way. She lives in St Thomas ON in an art-filled house with her husband, kids, a green couch, an over-worked barbeque and a constantly revolving door of friends and neighbours.

MAGIC MAKER
We mean it. A creative multi-tasker and designer, for the last 18 years, Angie Gauthier has literally hand-made magic tricks for a magician who sells them all over the world. She also weaves graphic magic, having spent a decade designing album covers, posters and merchandise for musicians and small businesses; and fibre magic moonlighting as a teacher and designer at her local yarn store. Angie has a gift for putting a “feeling” into a visual design so that even if people never read accompanying words, they will always understand the heart. A full time Mom to four hilarious humans and wife to a musician and artist, Angie lives in a loud home filled with art, music, pets she’s learned to love and other people’s children. She dreams of one day downsizing and living in a bus.
